I feel very blessed to have performed many choreographic works under the direction of company dancers of Paul Taylor, Limon, Joyce Trisler, NYCB/ Hamburg Opera Ballet (Ballet Regent School), and Syracuse Ballet Theatre. My most beloved primary dance teachers after moving from Brooklyn to Utica were Dorothy Myrna, Susan Plato, Vincenza Ruggerio Coluzza, G and J Clifford, and Marcia Brunner.
At the inception of National Women’s History Month, in 1985, I was the recipient of the “Woman of Merit” Arts award in Oneida County, based on contributions and volunteerism to community theatres and art centers, schools, and arts & education programs in Utica, Clinton, New Hartford, Little Falls, Dolgeville, Herkimer, Frankfort,Whitesboro and Lake Pleasant, New York. I enjoyed many years as a musical theatre choreographer and performer for Players Theatre, James Street Theatre and Upstagers Community Theatre, Utica College Social & Cultural Presentations and MVCC Drama Department.
I owned and operated the “The Backstage Dance Shoppe” (formerly Mid-Town Shoes), offering the highest quality of brand name dance wear, shoes and accessories for dancers, gymnastics, fitness and majorettes in Utica, NY in the mid 1980s, serving the dance and theatre communities from Albany to Syracuse, meeting many interesting and talented people along the way!
